It all started in Alaska
On a long weekend trip to Anchorage/Seward area of Alaska in October 2017, I took along a pair of cheap binoculars and acted like I was looking at birds. I didn’t know what I was doing. My friend Stacey - traveling with me - said “There’s gotta be some bird-watching class you can take in Seattle?” So, when we got back, I found a Gateway Birds of Seattle Class sponsored by the Seattle Audubon (now called Birds Connect Seattle). Ever since then, I’ve been “hooked” on these wonderful little creatures. My birding intensity and passion only grew during the pandemic when I was sitting at home watching the birds flit in my Southeast Seattle neighborhood. I went on some Audubon and Mountaineers Field Trips. And, as they say, the rest is history. Here’s a gallery of some of my bird photos I’ve taken during my field trips and outings. Most are PNW-based, though I’ve been branching out to other areas of the country and world. Hopefully, these photos will express the passion and compassion I have for these modern-day descendants of dinosaurs!
